Chris got out of the gate with a great first dinner and an interesting theme: Red Table Wines. It takes a confident wine maker to label their product with a simple “Red Wine” label. Here’s what we drank:
1. 2005 Hedges Red Mountain (Washington State)
2. 2002 Berthoud Ursus (Sonoma Valley)
3. 2004 Chateau Valcombe - Cotes du Ventoux (France)
4. 2005 Michel-Schlumberger Maison Rouge (Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma)
5. 2006 Decoy (Napa Valley)
6. 2005 Stagecoach Vineyard - The Advocate (Napa)
If I recall, #2, #5 and #6 were the favorites.
Next up: Couples night at our place.
How does Saturday the 24th of January look? And a straightforward theme of ’05 and ’06 California Cabs. What do you think of pitting Sonoma versus Napa?
